The ICONICA project (Research in Safe, Intelligent, Connected and Autonomous Driving) has been awarded a grant requested in a Final Resolution by the Science and Innovation Missions ’24 programme.

On 26/2/2025, the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, through the Centre for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI Innovation), published the final resolution of the 2024 call for the Science and Innovation Missions programme.

The aim is to promote collaboration between companies and between companies and research centres, technology centres and universities to improve the impact of scientific results and provide innovative solutions to society.

This call for grants is financed with funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and involves companies and knowledge-generating centres.

Specifically, ICONICA is framed in safe driving and adapted to new models of electromobility and autonomous vehicles.

The following companies participate in the consortium created for the development of the project: ALSA, ANTERAL, INFONORTE, VODAFONE, SACYR and SISTEM; as well as the ITCL and NAITEC technology centres.

The project will last 15 months, and innovative solutions and interesting research in the area of connected mobility are expected to be obtained.

Misiones Ciencia e Innovación 2024 has been funded by CDTI with the support of the Ministry of Science and Innovation. This call is included among the actions foreseen in the National Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which will be financed by the Next Generation EU funds, including the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.
